Services & Approach

  • 01. PSYCHOLOGY

Comprehensive psychological and psychoeducational assessments provide information about how a person thinks, feels, and processes information. Effective assessment gives us diagnostic clarity and allows us to develop tailored plans for intervention and support. At the end of an assessment, we’ll provide an in-depth report and/or diagnostic letter as needed.

We also offer strength-based intervention tailored to your needs using a variety of strategies, including cognitive-behavioural therapy, executive functioning training, and parent coaching. Each person comes to us with unique experiences, strengths, and challenges, and we honour those as we work together toward growth, change, and development.

Psychological services with a registered psychologist $230/hour.

Psychological services with a provisional psychologist $210/hour.

  • 02. TUTORING

Often, people need extra support developing literacy skills. Our literacy specialists provide individual support in the areas of reading, writing, and spelling. We’ll work with students and caregivers to pinpoint key areas for development and help improve academic outcomes.

Learning to read and spell often requires direct, systematic instruction. Our tutors have training in the Orton Gillingham approach and the science of reading. It’s a direct, explicit, multi-sensory, structured, sequential, diagnostic, and prescriptive way to teach literacy when reading, writing, and spelling don’t come easily.

One-on-one literacy intervention with literacy specialist $85 plus GST/45 minute session.

One-on-one literacy intervention with provisional psychologist $110/45 minute session.

One-on-one literacy intervention with registered psychologist $115/45 minute session.

  • 03. SPEECH & LANGUAGE

Communication is essential. What children understand (receptive language) and what they’re able to say (expressive language) are important tools that help children make sense of the world around them.

Some children need support with the sounds of speech (articulation). Understanding — and being understood — are both critical parts of language and communication. Our speech and language pathologists help develop strategies for communication, allowing children to better express themselves.

Speech & language services $165/hour in clinic.

Speech & language services $170/hour in home.

  • 04. OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY

The goal of occupational therapy is to help people increase their independence across a variety of meaningful daily activities. Our occupational therapist will look at fine and gross motor skills, executive functioning, sensory processing, self-regulation, as well as environmental factors that may contribute to difficulties in daily life.

Our occupational therapist will use a strength-based approach to create individualized goals and strategies, as well as coach families in school related skills, self-care and independent living skills, and sensory processing/ regulation.
